Agarwood is known by various names in different cultures. In addition to “agarwood”, “agar”, “aloeswood”, “aloes”, “aloewood” and “aloe” in English, it is known as “chenxiang”, “chenshuixiang” and “shuichenxiang” in Chinese, “aguru” in Sanskrit, “oud” in Arabic and “gaharu” in Indonesian.
