Agarwood and Faiths

Originating from everyday life, incense is not applied exclusively in faiths and religions. People started to use various types of incense for dispelling dirt and insects, as well as for preventing diseases thousands of years ago. Fragrance gives a feel of pleasure and relaxation. It also represents a purified mind. Thus, the burning of fragrant wood is widely adopted across various religious rites, during which a special smoky atmosphere is considered necessary for delivering prayers and wishes to the gods.1 For those ancient civilizations where religion was an important part of life, such as the Egyptians and Greeks, different incense and spices were burnt in splendid sanctuaries and temples in revered and sacred worship rituals.2,3 By coincidence, almost all faiths have offered incense as a tribute to their Lord Almighty since ancient times. Faiths and religions in various places have also related themselves to incense. 》..........
