Avalokitesvara is also known as “Guanyin Bodhisattva” and “Guanzizai”, is one of The Four Great Bodhisattvas in Buddhism. According to The Infinite Life Sutra, Avalokitesvara is the left retinue of Amitabha in the Pure Land, forming “The Three Holy Ones in the West” along with Mahasthamaprapta. Since Avalokitesvara is merciful and relieves the sufferings of all mankind with empathy, she is regarded as “The Great Compassion Bodhisattva”.
